How to remain productive in turbulent times? Derailing focus is already a challenge when working in the tech or finance sector.
There's no magic formula, but here are some suggestions:
Find a routine and stick to it as much as possible. Structure your day so that you have dedicated time for different tasks. For instance, I go for a short 15-20 min run every morning and do a 5-minute meditation afterward using an insight timer.
Set realistic goals for what you can accomplish each day, and break them down into smaller, manageable steps. I usually have about 3-4 weekly goals and break them down into 2-3 smaller daily goals. It’s vital to focus on measurable outcomes such as automating a manual country risk assessment to accrue 20% time saved for another team.
Make sure you take breaks and allow yourself time to relax – both. It’s all about managing your energy, not time.
Find a work environment that suits you. Some people need complete silence, others like white noise or music in the background. I have recently started setting up my home office which will have a standing desk, whiteboard, and 2 monitors.
Stay connected with your team and colleagues. Whether it’s regular check-ins, video calls, or messaging, make sure you keep the lines of communication open.
